We provide inclusive and personalised support to our diverse LGBTQ community in Calderdale and are a founding member of the global Transfriendly community. Our staff are all fully vetted using Active Background Checks. Our team all have enhanced DBS, to be able to work with children and adults.
We are also thrilled to announce the launch of our new Pen Pal Scheme in collaboration, with Ferney Lee School. In this heartwarming initiative, students are paired with older adults from our community to exchange letters, share stories, and build meaningful connections across generations.
We are able to maintain our high standards through requiring regular staff training, and are currently using The Grey Matter Learning for all of our accredited e-learning courses. This includes collecting prescriptions, help with arranging and attending doctors appointments, help taking medication, and hospital visits.
Help with washing, cleaning, dressing, putting makeup on - whatever you need help with, we are here.
A good diet is an important part of any healthcare plan. We ensure all of our clients are properly fed with food that they love!
All of our carers are required to attend training, to give the best support possible.
Cooking, cleaning, running errands, arranging and accompanying on social outings, shop visits - and anything that you need!
Possibly the most stressful part of managing a household - we'll take over that burden if you need us to, so you can focus on feeling well.
Now, more than ever, taking the time to have a sit down, a cup of tea and a chat can make a huge difference to quality of life. All of our carers are encouraged to take the extra time to do this. Our new penpal scheme is also helping to bridge the generation gap in our community, creating lasting bonds through the magic of handwritten letters.
Libra Care was initially needed after my decline in moility, numerous falls and visits to the hospital. Thanks to Libra Support Services, I now receive 4 calls a day and the fantastic team provides support with all the tasks I struggled with. I find the team to be friendly and efficient, and I'm highly satisfied with the quality of care I recieve. I look forward to my visits.
I can't praise the team at Libra enough. They are all so lovely to my dad and never miss a beat when it comes to providing quality, reliable support. While Libra help my dad with all the things one struggles to do with limited mobility, it's the fact that the team always go out of their way to help with absolutely every little things they can; the attention to detail in the service provided is just fantastic.
Thanks to Nicola I managed to get my medication as I could not get myself out the house due to surgery on a broken ankle. One phone call and answered straight away, and as soon as I said what I needed she collected them. Also, when I told her I was struggling as I could not have a shower etc. she told me the right people to contact and what mobility aids I might need. Within 3 days I had all the equipment I needed to shower independently.
Nicola, Jess and their team support a family member who is elective mute. They have always engaged with him in a really positive way and it is clear that he enjoys the time he spends with them. The respite it gives us as a family has really improved all our lives, and I cannot thank them enough.
I contacted Nicola for some support when I split from my husband, pregnant, suffering with depression and have an autistic daughter to take care of; she was only too happy to help. Nicola came frequently to clean my house, pick some shopping up and helped with day to day tasks. She also became a very close confidant and supported me through a very difficult time. Nicola is extremely kind, caring, helpful, professional and trustworthy. I can’t thank her enough for all her care and support she provided through a difficult time.
